Any use of the Surprise Australia website (www.surpriseaustralia.com.au; www.surpriseaustralia.com or www.surpriseaustralia.co.uk) is subject to the user agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions.
These conditions also apply to all online transactions between Surprise Australia and any person, firm or company (“the Purchaser”) placing an order online with Surprise Australia for the supply of any Goods, including gifts, gift boxes or gift hampers.
Surprise Australia, by accepting any order for Goods from the Purchaser, agrees to sell and the Purchaser agrees to buy such Goods at the price stated on the Surprise Australia website and on the basis of the terms and conditions of Surprise Australia as stated herein.
DESPATCH AND DELIVERY
Our hours of operation are from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, Western Standard Time, Australia (excluding Western Australian public holidays).
Goods will be delivered within Australia by Australia Post Express Post or courier as outlined under Delivery within Australia.
We can send the Goods to you, directly to the recipient, or to another nominated address. Under Australian laws pertaining to our business regarding the sale of alcohol, gift hampers containing alcohol can only be delivered to a person other than the purchaser of the gift. Surprise Australia will not deliver gift hampers containing alcohol to the Purchaser.
At present, Surprise Australia only despatches Goods within Australia. PO Box addresses are not accepted as nominated delivery addresses for hampers containing food or perishable items.
Delivery Timeframes
Estimated delivery time frames (excluding busy periods such as Christmas) are outlined below in business days and are only intended as a guide.
- Perth Metropolitan: 1 – 2 days
- Perth Outskirts and Western Australia Country: 2 – 3 days
- Interstate (all other states exc. WA): 2 – 4 days
We make every effort to deliver the goods within the time minimum time stated and will not be liable for any losses incurred by late delivery beyond our control. Delivery is not available on Australian public holidays or over WA public holiday long weekends.
Gifts going to the Perth metropolitan area are generally delivered the next business day after order. Gifts going to the following interstate CBD postcodes, should reach their destination the next business day:

Sydney CBD - 1000-1299; 2000-2009
Melbourne CBD - 3000-3010; 8000-8010
Brisbane CBD - 4000-4004

If your gift is not delivered within the maximum estimated delivery time which we quote (the maximum time typically applies to more distant areas), please contact us by phone or email and we will do our utmost to ensure that your gift is received as quickly as possible. Late delivery does not entitle you to cancel an order.
Whilst we are not able to accommodate specific dates for delivery outside of the Perth metropolitan area, if a gift is ordered well in advance, we will do our best to get it delivered as close as possible to the specified date. We do accept specific delivery dates for deliveries within the Perth metropolitan area. If required, please specify this date during the checkout process.
Christmas Deliveries
Christmas time is a very busy period for all involved in the season. For this reason, we suggest you allow at least three weeks for interstate delivery (exc Perth metropolitan area and Western Australia country areas) within Australia.
While timely delivery may be possible, we do not guarantee interstate delivery in time for Christmas, for orders placed after December 11, 2009.
Couriers and Australia Post are extremely busy during the Christmas period and therefore deliveries may be delayed and exceed the timeframes times listed under “Delivery Time Frames” above. Late delivery does not entitle you to cancel an order.
Surprise Australia’s delivery period for Christmas gifts going to the Perth metropolitan area is from Friday 18th December to Thursday 24th December 2009.
If you are ordering a gift in advance of these dates but would like your gift delivered as close to Christmas as possible within this Christmas delivery period, please select the “Christmas Delivery Period” option under “Delivery and Packing”. Once your gift has been delivered, you will receive an email from us advising so.
If you are ordering your gift in advance of these dates but would still like your gift delivered within our usual delivery time frame, please choose the “Perth Metropolitan” option as desired.
Delivery Within Australia
Delivery within Australia is by Express Post or local Courier.
- Gifts going to the Perth metropolitan area are delivered by local courier with some smaller gifts delivered by Express Post.
- Gifts going to Perth outskirts and WA country areas are delivered by Express Post.
- Interstate (ie all other states excluding WA) gifts are despatched by Express Post.
If the area of your nominated delivery address is not serviced by the Australia Post Express Post network or our preferred local courier, we will notify you of this within 24 hours of receipt of your order and try to provide you with other delivery options.
Surprise Australia takes no responsibility for any inconvenience resulting from such a situation or any increased delivery costs which may apply.
Delivery to Hospitals, Hotels and Business Organisations
Deliveries to hotels, hospitals or business organisations may not be delivered directly to the requested recipient by our courier or postal service provider but instead to a central delivery point such as the main reception.
In such cases, Surprise Australia will not be responsible for the actions of other people working within the organisation where delivery is being made. Surprise Australia’s part in the delivery process is completed once a gift has been delivered to and received at the central delivery point.
Surprise Australia is unable to influence or control the movement of a parcel within a hotel, hospital or organisation. It is the responsibility of the Purchaser to inquire about movement policies within such organisations before nominating such an address for their order delivery.
Delivery Costs
Our delivery costs are outlined below.
- Perth Metropolitan - from $13.50
- Perth Outskirts and WA Country - from $13.50 Per Gift
- All other Australian interstate addresses - from $14.50 Per Gift
The above standard fees apply to most gifts, however some gifts attract a higher delivery fee due to their weight and size.
If you fail to select a delivery option or choose an incorrect option, delivery may be delayed. Surprise Australia will not be held responsible for any inconvenience resulting from such a situation, any increased costs or any refunds that may apply.
If you are purchasing more than one gift going to the same address, reduced postage may apply. Enquiries may be sent to Surprise Australia at enquiries@surpriseaustralia.com.au. This may result in delays to your intended purchases. If you choose to pay a “per gift” cost in such situations, Surprise Australia will not be held responsible for any savings from reduced postage that could have applied.
Delivery Details
Signatures are not required at delivery. If the nominated address is unattended, the delivery service will leave the goods at the address in a safe place. In the case of goods delivered to Perth Outskirts, WA Country and interstate addresses, Australia Post may choose to leave a calling card, in which case the goods may need to be collected by the recipient from the local post office.
To avoid loss, please try to ensure that the recipient of the gift or other associated persons will be available to receive it at the nominated address. Sometimes a business delivery address may be more secure than a home address.
Surprise Australia will not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from items lost, stolen or damaged after delivery has taken place. This includes loss or damage resulting from delivery to unattended addresses where the recipient is not at home to receive the goods.
If a recipient does not respond to a calling card within a reasonable period of time, Surprise Australia will be notified of the situation by the delivery service. If Surprise Australia is unable to rectify the problem, having tried to make contact with the Purchaser, then the goods will be returned to Surprise Australia. Thereafter, the Purchaser will incur a re-delivery charge to deliver the goods again at twice the original cost, since Surprise Australia will have incurred a return charge by the delivery service. The Purchaser will also be charged for any items which have become unsuitable for sale and need replacement (eg perishable items or those with short shelf lives).
Please enter all delivery details carefully. Inaccurate or misspelt delivery information may result in delivery delays. If Surprise Australia is charged a re-delivery fee by our courier due to inaccurate delivery details provided by you, that charge will be passed onto you for delivery to occur.
It is the Purchasers’s responsibility to ensure that goods ordered have been received by the nominated person(s). Surprise Australia will not take responsibility and may not be able to assist with the tracing of goods which are reported long after they were meant to have been received by the recipient.
PAYMENT
All payments for goods and services purchased through Surprise Australia can be made by credit card (through Paypal). Please select your preferred option during the online purchase process. Please note that goods will only be despatched once payment has been received.
In some cases, credit card payments may be delayed for reasons beyond our control. In such cases, we cannot send any goods until payment in full is received.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation of orders must be done no later than 48hrs prior to despatch. We do not accept cancellations under any circumstances once the goods have left our premises.
DAMAGED/FAULTY GOODS
All gift boxes and hampers are packed with due care and safety to avoid damage or breakage. In the event delivered goods are damaged or faulty, please inform Surprise Australia within 7 days of delivery. Surprise Australia is happy to replace those goods once they have been posted back to Surprise Australia and deemed faulty or damaged. A replacement item will then be delivered to the recipient at no extra cost.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Surprise Australia reserves the right to substitute any items included in gift boxes or gift hampers, with other items of similar or greater value, if for any reason those items listed on the website are not available.
SALE OF ALCOHOL
Gift hampers containing alcohol may only be purchased and delivered to persons over the age of 18.
Under Australian laws alcohol pertaining to our business regarding the sale of alcohol, gift hampers containing alcohol can only be delivered to a person other than the purchaser of the gift. Surprise Australia will not deliver gift hampers containing alcohol to the Purchaser.
ONLINE PRESENCE
No warranty is given by Surprise Australia that our web site will be constantly online or free of defects and errors at any time.

As a visitor to the Surprise Australia website you are licensed to electronically copy or print portions of this site for your own personal, non-commercial use. OTHER
For photography purposes we sometimes use props in photographs. Unless an item is listed, in our product description, it is not included in the gift package.
